The Campus Blockchain Hackathon is aimed at engaging the academic community on the potentials of Blockchain Technology for national development, the unique role of academic institutions, and more importantly, the need to incorporate it into our academic curriculum.

Kwara State University Campus Blockchain Hackathon attracted a lot of students from the University. The students in attendance included computer science students and entrepreneurs that are aspiring to venture into the blockchain space. Some of the students came prepared for the hackathon, but the majority of them do not know anything about blockchain technology. Also in attendance were students from other Institutions in Kwara State such as Kwara State Polytechnic and the University of Illorin, Nigeria.

The first day of the Campus Blockchain Hackathon is the symposium aimed at educating the University students about blockchain technology.

One the first day of the KWASU Blockchain Hackathon, the ICT Director for Kwara State University, Mr Teslim Balogun attended the hackathon and gave the opening speech. His speech was very inspiring, he encouraged the students to take the events of the hackathon seriously as blockchain technology is the future.
