Last weekend, I had a lot of time to relax and so I decided to try my hands on Crypto Legends, a TCG game on TokenPocket. I’ve heard a lot about trade card games but I’ve never had the time nor interest to play one.
It was their epic trailer that attracted me to the game and when I finally got in, I wasn’t disappointed. The game has an awesome 3D experience. Apparently, the trailer was not a bluff. This is the first blockchain TCG with a 3D experience!
Crypto Legends is an EOS based strategy Trading Card Game (TCG). The game has 8 characters and a total of 1,038 cards, highlighting FULL 3D graphics and strategic play. It is currently available for mobile users only. To gain early access you have to download the app for your android or iOS device directly from the website.
The 8 characters in the game are Paladin, Wizard, Priest, Warlock, Death Knight, Warrior, Hunter and Rogue. Each of them has unique abilities and can be selected by the user’s play preference or deck combination. One character that I enjoyed using was the warrior because it has a special attack feature that enables you to launch an assault on your opponent's character directly. Super cool! I don’t think the other characters can do that.

You need both TokenPocket and CryptoLegends apps to play the game. You start the game by launching it with the CryptoLegends app and TokenPocket enables you to sign in to the game securely.
I had a lot of fun playing this game during the weekend and because of that, I’ve started making a research about TCGs. I discovered some interesting things. Many people spend thousands of dollars on these card games and some even save the rare cards as investments. Some trading cards have been sold for millions of dollars. The most popular trading card game has been around for 20 years and has a cultlike community of over 20 million users.
I like the fact that the gaming world is embracing blockchain technology because it would bring a lot of benefits to gamers. Gamers would be able to truly own their digital assets and time spent on games would mean actual value(real money) as gamers would be able to sell their earned items on exchanges. Blockchain will enable gamers to demand more transparency from gaming companies and these companies would, in turn, be able to earn the trust of their userbase. They can create innovative economic incentives and distribute ownership of certain aspects of the game to gamers. This would create a community that truly cares because they have some skin in the game. I can’t wait to see how this CryptoLegends game unfolds, and knowing that it would be leveraging on blockchain technology makes me excited about it.
I’m not going to be joining the ranked battle challenge because I don’t have the time for a contest right now but this weekend I’m going to be playing again because it’s fun and because weekend players get double benefits and gifts.
